The Tactics Cards in Mercenaries are categorized
under Magic, Melee and Spirit aspects accompanied
by Traps and Items. These interact with the 9 Tactics
Functions (codenamed: TENBADSIM)
with your Support Minions to create devastating
outcomes as only you can render}… so game-on,
and be the legendary tactician you are destined
to be!
MAGIC
The Magical Aspect of Tactics Anthem taps into the
spidery realms of mystical energies channeled through
the tongues of enchantments to create a wide variety
of effects that can boost your own minions or conversely
cripple your opponent. There are many schools of
magic in the world of Erets, notably the Arthurian
white magic of Merlin and the dark arts of Morgana.
But there remains many other factions such as those
from Talmissra whose mastery of colorless magic
is not only the foolhardy would scoff at. Magic Tactics
are most wide-ranging and provides players with a wide
range of tactical possibilities. Used in conjunction with
Support Minions - Magical Tactics can often-times turn the
tide in the game.
MELEE
The might of the sword – who can resist it? Mercenaries
live and die by the sword, or club, or whatever weapon
they can lay their hands on. Setting physical traps to
complement brute force, a tactician can oftentimes turn
the tide by charging the enemy down. Gerroch warriors
are a fiercesome tribe and would make great allies as
your Support Minion if you can convince them to join your
ranks. Melee Tactics are aimed at boosting or weakening minions
being deployed. They are useful for strategies that try to alter
minions' strength as the winning strategy.
SPIRIT
The realm of the spirits is revealed to those of faith.
Tapping into the supernatural, your powers can be greatly
bolstered through the prayers and invocations of your
spiritual support minions. Where might and magic fails,
the spirit must raise the banner of your cause and draw
deep energies from beyond to refresh the weary and quicken
the spirit. Spirit Tactics affect the environment and tends
to affect the game for a number of turns. Players who master
Spirit Tactics can severely handicap their opponents and
frustrate their strategies.
